US agencies vow closer scrutiny of China-funded learning centres

WASHINGTON (REUTERS) - US agencies on Thursday (Feb 28) promised stricter monitoring of China-funded Confucius Institutes, cultural centres at US universities that have been criticised for serving as propaganda arms of the Communist government in Beijing.
